Probably the simplest engine here. Ren'Py is a Python based visual novel engine popularly used in games such as Doki Doki Literature Club. The hardest part is writing the story and getting art. Actual programming is a breeze.
As well as being very simple for 3D media, Godot is useful in 2D scenarios.
